The Foundation for Christian
Studies (FCS) is committed to exemplifying the love of Jesus
Christ by serving others as he did during his public ministry.
Christ called for his true disciples to feed the hungry, take
in the stranger, clothe the naked, and visit the incarcerated
(Matt. 25: 35-36).
The FCS will heed the counsel of the Savior by promoting and
supporting charities who have demonstrated excellence in
managing their operations towards helping those in need. The FCS places a
particular emphasis on charities which help those who are
striving for self-sufficiency. The three charities selected by
the FCS are shown below—which you can support through
purchases of merchandise from the FCS store, or by clicking on
the charities below and contributing directly on their
website. The FCS does not accept donations directly for any
purpose at this time.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER PROGRAM (KIPP)
KIPP Academies are a growing network of schools that are
transforming the lives of students in under-resourced
communities, and redefining the notion of what is possible
in public education. Since their founding, the two
original KIPP Academies have sustained track records of
high student achievement. While fewer than one in five
low-income students attend college nationally, KIPP’s
college matriculation rate stands at more than 80 percent
for students who complete the eighth grade at KIPP. In
2007, nearly 95 percent of KIPP alumni went on to
college-preparatory high schools; collectively, they have
earned millions of dollars in scholarships and financial
aid since 2000. Learn more about KIPP by visiting their
website at

The Operations of the FCS
The FCS maintains an all volunteer ministry, therefore its
Board of Advisors, associates, and contributors are not paid
any form of compensation for their time in service. The
primary expenses incurred by the FCS are for as needed
administrative and operational purposes including: website
maintenance, server hosting, accounting services, legal
counsel, copy editing, printing, postage, and office supplies.
In many cases the FCS is able to receive donated services,
while using outsourced professional organizations as
appropriate in order to reduce reoccurring labor costs.
Funding for the start-up and on-going operations of the FCS
comes through private donations and sales of Christian media
from the FCS online stores. Where there is an surplus of funds
available, the FCS considers how best to use those surplus
fund in support of its sponsored charities—thus maintaining a
non-profit orientation. |
